Brotherly Love

When I was younger, I so badly wanted a brother, it was a deep sense of a piece missing from my life, maybe I felt I could have used an older brother to get into trouble with or ask advice from. Maybe I thought I would have made an awesome older brother, protecting and creating an unbreakable bond! Looking back now though, I have created bonds with so many close male friends, that I can call them my brothers! The level of deep connection through vulnerable, open conversation, insights, advice, laughter and the unconditional support I received through friendships, astonishes me, fills-my-heart.

I have thought many times about how the universe has always revealed at least one close brother to me during my different stages of life. With teams I played on, at many jobs I have worked, schools I have attended, the personal development seminars I went through. Some younger, some older, but there was always a close male friendship there for me, someone always wanting to connect. I do believe we call into our existence what we believe in, want the most of, people we are on the same life vibration, energy and want to share similar experiences.

I was able to call in a special group of brothers and I want to give a shout out to them. They are a very near and dear group and I have been friends with these men for at least 30 years now, and one of them is my oldest, dearest friend of close to 40 years. We keep in touch on a close to daily basis in a group chat, mostly through jokes and lots of laughs, and if things line up in the summer we try and get together as we live all live in different cities across Canada.

I can honestly say that every one of them has been there to support me. I have cried in front of them, a lot! I have been at my most vulnerable with them, with my heart in their hands and they have ALWAYS accepted me for me! These men are a blessed group of friends, and I AM SO VERY THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL for them!

So when you have a little downtime think about who are some of the men that have been there for you during tough times, crazy adventures, happy moments in your life?  Whether that is a long-lost friend, a dear friend, a blood brother. It would be awesome to show some courage & vulnerability and you reach out to at least one of them and let them know how much they have meant to you in your life!

You can grab a pen and paper and write a note thanking them and letting them know how grateful you are for them, the note doesn’t need to be sent, or send it, up to you. You can meditate on the abundance of support you have been given through your life from other men! Do whatever makes you feel comfortable putting the gratitude out into the universe as you shall receive more of it! Another close brother is always worth having!
